Abstract

With the exponential growth of scientific literature, it is becoming increasingly challenging to keep up with the latest developments. This is particularly true in the fields of trauma, crisis, and conflict, where new research findings can have a significant impact on the lives of those affected. To address this challenge, we are excited to offer a methodological workshop that introduces the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in conducting systematic literature reviews. Specifically, we will introduce the open-source software ASReview (www.asreview.ai) used by thousands of researchers worldwide. It is a powerful AI-based tool developed and maintained at Utrecht University that can help you to quickly and efficiently screen thousands of articles, allowing you to get a systematic overview of the literature in a fraction of the time it would take manually. During the workshop, we will use the PTSD dataset described in a recent Nature article (https://www.nature.com/articles/s42256-020-00287-7) to demonstrate how ASReview works and how it can be integrated into your own research process. We will cover topics such as how to set up ASReview, how to label articles for inclusion and exclusion, and how to interpret the results of your review. By attending this workshop, you will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI technology and learn how it can be used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your literature reviews. We believe that this knowledge will be invaluable for researchers and practitioners working in the fields of trauma, crisis, and conflict, and we look forward to seeing you there!
